No trip this weekend
We have decided not to go to Spokane. I'm totally bummed, but I know we made the right decision. I am still taking Thursday and Friday off. I called my friend Elidah and we have plans for lunch and some shopping on Thursday. I have not seen her in some time, so that will be nice. I called everyone in Spokane last night and informed them that we will not be up. I felt bad because our friend Cameron took Thursday and Friday off as well. Everyone understood, it's just a bummer. I know what I'm getting tonight after work, a bottle of my favorite wine......or maybe 2! Look out wine, here I come. Everyone is Spokane, drive safe and keep warm in this weather.

Keep your fingers crossed for our trip
I've decided not to do a food menu for this week because of our Spokane trip. On our way home from Spokane I'll see if Jason will want to stop at Winco so we can get some food for the week. I've got some idea's for dinner but we'll see how our trip works out. If we don't go I'll have to go get food for the next two weeks this weekend at Walmart. I would love to go to Winco though. They have some great buys on all the meats you could want, and I love there fresh bread section. I always find something there that I have never seen before. They have those giant barrels full of nuts, candy, granola, dried fruit, and chocolate. I love getting the chocolate covered gummie bears. Spokane mom called me this morning and informed me it was still snowing in Spokane! BUMMER!! Jason's knee and ankle is still bothering him, so he did not go to stick night last night. He's been bummed about this all week. I hope he's ready for his game on Wednesday, because I don't want to listen to him if he can't play! I can tell he's really missing hockey. I made stir fry last night and it was good! Photo on the right was taken by the husband. I'd say he did pretty dang good. Hope you're all staying warm in this crazy weather. Wish us luck on our trip to Spokane. Have a great day.

How dare the snow be so cruel to me
This weather is being a big pain in my ass! We are suppose to be heading to Spokane this weekend, and the weather is putting a hold on my plans. I hope the roads are drivable this weekend! As of right now, we don't know if we'll be coming up! That would really piss me off, so we won't talk about that right now!! Emily did come and stay the night with us on Friday. Saturday morning we painted, then went out to lunch, and then did some shopping. She was great for us. I got some great photos that I'll post at the end of this page. Once we were headed towards her house she got upset because she knew we were taking her home. I ensured here that she could come and stay again. She was already asking me when she can come back yesterday! I told Devin, who is my 10 year old brother, that he could stay next time. I'm sure we'll have a fight to deal with next time I go to pick Devin up! Sunday was a lounge day for Jason and I both. We watched some movies, cleaned, and I got a couple of pages done for my scrapbook. Sunday morning I got up early to get my pot roast ready. Nothing like smelling roast and veggies cooking all day! It was amazing. My favorite part is the next day leftovers, I LOVE cold pot roast on white bread with mayo!! Mmmm, that's some good stuff. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the roads will be ok for our trip to Spokane. Have a great day.

Welcome home Vinnie
I get to go pick my boy up today, YAY!! I missed him so much last. My other cat Nala was in a worry all night and this morning. She was crying and wandering around looking for him. Vinnie always sleeps right next to me. As in basically on my face. He likes to curl into a ball and lay in between my chin and my chest. It sounds annoying, but I love it! Nala did come up and lay on my pillow last night, which is something she doesn't do often. I knew she was missing her buddy. I gave her some extra lovin this morning. She'll be excited when I come home with the little guy this afternoon.
We have dinner at the parents house tonight for Emily's birthday. Today is her actual birthday. I got her one of those cards that when you open it up it sings. She's going to love it! Then after dinner we will be bringing Emily back to our place, as she is staying the night tonight. I got some paints and some paint brushes so that we could paint some picture frames I have. Then tomorrow before we take her home, we'll go out to lunch and hit the dollar store up. She loves going to the dollar store, and so do I! Nothing to exciting going on, but I know she'll have fun.
We are off to Spokane next week, and I couldn't be more excited. As usual we have a jammed packed weekend. It's hard only going up for the weekend. There are so many people we want to see and there's always someone we didn't see because we ran out of time. I'm sure even if we were up for a week there still wouldn't be enough time! Jason's mom did call us and we have plans to see them on Saturday. We don't see them every time we go up like we see my mom, so I'm glad we'll be able to visit them for a while. Hope you all have a great weekend.

Kudos to Santa
On a happier note I wanted to share with you all something I got for Christmas that I just LOVE! I got both of these items in my stocking from Santa this last Christmas. The one on the right is a giant size blush brush, which is full of a shimmer powder that smells like a real lite musk scent. This was purchased at Walmart (and I know this because Santa told me so) for under $10.00. GREAT BUY. The one on the left is the same idea, but it's just a giant puff ball. It's not really a ball, but I don't know how else to describe it. It's full of a shimmer powder that smells like peppermint Pattie's. This one was purchased at Bath & Body Works. This one was a little more expensive, but it was under $20.00. I believe this one comes in 3 different flavors. I love stuff like this. Anything shimmer, glitter, & smells good, I'm down for. If you had to get only one, I'd suggest the blush brush one. The price is amazing! They come in many different colors, which each color is a different flavor (smell). Now I don't get paid for talking about these or anything I just want to tell you guys about something I love and I think any girl should have. If you've got a young girls birthday coming up, keep these in mind. Now I just need to collect them all.
My poor boy Vinnie
I had to take my cat Vinnie to the vet last night. About an half an hour after I got home from work he started doing some weird stuff. First I thought he had a hair ball. He was gagging like he was trying to get something up. Then he started scratching at his mouth when he would do this. He was doing this gagging & scratching like every 15-20 seconds. So Jason and I headed to the emergency vet clinic. We went to our normal vet and they were closed so they called the on call vet and we went to a different clinic. Once we got there he wasn't doing it as often. I first thought he had something stuck in his throat and he got it out. So Jason and I sat in the truck and waited for him to do it again. Well he did start doing it again. We took him inside and waited for the vet. The actual vet wasn't there yet, so a vet assistant came in and was checking his gums and heart beat. While she was looking at his gums, she noticed he had just lost some baby teeth. As in he had lost baby teeth within the hour. After checking him over she figured out that he had a very very loose baby tooth that was bothering him. He was trying to get it out. She then told us that we could still wait for the vet but we would have to pay the $100.00 emergency fee. We felt comfortable with what she said, so we declined seeing the vet and left. I watched him for a couple hours after we got home and he was fine. I checked that tooth this morning and he has not lost it yet, but it's going to be gone anytime now. I was so worried about my boy. I know why Jason and I freak when something is wrong! We had a kitten a couple of years ago, that we got from the paper. We had him less then a week, when one morning I woke up and he wouldn't move. I took him to the emergency vet clinic and he died there. Jason and I were both very upset by this. So last night when Vinnie started acting weird immediately I thought of Clyde. Our cats are like our children, we are extremely attached to them. I had to drop Vinnie off at the vet this morning for his neutered appointment. I was sad leaving him there after what happened last night. I know he'll be fine, but I'll be so happy when he comes come tomorrow. We can pick him up after 10:00, I think I'll go get him on my lunch break. I already miss the little guy so much.

P-I-M-P Jacket
I got the cutest jacket for Joshua the other day. I just love it! I was looking through the baby clothes on a rack and I look over at a shelf and see this aqua colored something sticking out. I walk over to this mound of clothes someone had stuffed on to a shelf and pull this aqua thing out. Once I pulled it out, I loved it. It's a very pretty color, and it's so P-I-M-P to me. It's got a little crown on it, and it's got some fake silk on the inside of the hood! I wish it was in my size, I would totally wear it.
Jason twisted his ankle and messed his knee up last night coaching the kids hockey team. He's really bummed because he's not going to be able to play tonight. This will be his first game he's missed. Make that his first anything hockey he's missed. I told him though if he doesn't let it heal he's going to miss more than one game. He's knows he can't play tonight, but I know that he wants to think that it's going to be ok. We are still going to go to the game, he'll just be on the other side of the rink.
My sister came over last night while the boys played hockey. We ate McDonald's and watched Dora for an hour. She's always pretty good for me when she comes over. She kept telling me that she forgot her jammies and that she needed to call dad and have him bring them over. I kept telling her that I had to work the next day so she could not stay the night. I told her she could stay the night in 3 days. She said ok. When my dad came to get her after hockey she didn't want to go. It was sad, because she really thought she was staying the night. I'm sure she's over it now, but maybe it's just to much for her to come over during the week. Well see how she does next time.

It feels like a Wednesday
Not much to post today. I had to go to the dentist this morning and get a post for the root canal I had done last month. I will be getting a crown on it but now until after May, because that's when my dental insurance starts over for the year. My appointment was really fast this morning. They didn't even have to numb me! That's a miracle for me, because I HATE getting the shot in the mouth. Anytime I can avoid it I do. I was in and out with in the hour. This new dentist I've started seeing is awesome, I really like her. Jason has "coaching" tonight so I told my dad to drop Emily off at my house on his way in and her I would go and do something. I have an appointment on Thursday for my youngest cat to get fixed. I have to leave him over night. I'm gonna miss the little guy. I'll be glad when he's fixed though, I'm getting tired of yelling "Vinnie quit humping your sister"!! I know humping and sister should not be in the same sentence, but it's so funny! Hope you all have a great day.

Dance recital reviews, birthday's, & snow
Jason and I arrived at 6:15 because we had general admission seating and I wanted good seats. After we arrive we find out that the doors are not being opened until 7:30. I'm glad we got there when we did, because the place was full at 6:15. Once they opened the doors we went straight for the balcony. We got the first row of the balcony, they were great seats. We were not allowed to take pictures during the show, so I had to get some afterword. I did bring Emily flowers. She was so excited when I gave them to her. Jason thought I was weird because I was telling him the day before that I needed to get some flowers for Emily. Once we showed up and he saw everyone with flowers he realized I knew what I was doing. Silly boys, they never learn! The show went great, everyone did an amazing jobs. Those kids put a lot of work and training into this program. I'm excited to go to more. I found out yesterday that there is another one in June.
Sunday we went out to the parents house for Emily's birthday party. It was cute. Princess themed of course. We did birthday cake & ice cream, then presents. It was nice and shorts. Always nice on a Sunday, when you've been busy all weekend. Jason and I gave Emily a new night gown and a leopard print purse full of goodies. She loved it! Her actual birthday is next Friday, so we'll go out to the parents house for dinner that night. Then on Saturday Emily is going to stay the night at our place. I'll have to think of some cool stuff we can do. I always have something for the kids to do when they stay the night.
It started snowing yesterday, and I woke up to snow this morning. I know a lot of you have snow, but I don't! And I don't want it! The sun is out today melting all that white stuff away. Thank you sunshine. We don't want no stinkin' snow, we want the beautiful sunshine.

In need of some sunshine
Thank you sun for coming out and lifting my mood. Your sunshine was greatly appreciated. I was beginning to think that I would never see you again, and I've really needed you the last couple of days. Thanks again for breaking through those clouds, and shining rays right on me. I really needed it.
It's that time of year where you just don't want to do anything. After not seeing the sun for months, my mood just gets in a slump. The sun came out on Thursday, and I ran outside embracing it. It couldn't of came at a better time. It's still cold, but as long as the sun is shining I'm good.
Jason was up early this morning. He's helping the kids team today. I knew when he got up before his alarm went off, that he was excited to go. I decided there was no sense in me sleeping in anymore and I got up as well. It looks like it might be a nice day today. So our friends we had plans with last night had to cancel. I totally understood. I ensured her we would do it again soon. So last night Jason and I went to the Oasis and enjoyed ourselves some AWESOME blackened steaks. When ever were craving some good steak we go to the Oasis. There kinda expensive, but so worth it. They have my favorite french fries. Here I am getting my medium cooked steak with french fries. The food was excellent. I think the last time we were there was right after our wedding, so like 7 or 8 months ago. Know wonder I was craving it. I have to go get ready to make a trip to Walmart. I'll be glad when the grocery shopping is done. Then this evening is Emily's dance recital. I'll try to get some good pictures to post. It's going to be so cute. I found out yesterday that there are over 200 kids involved with this dance recital and the tickets are sold out. I'm glad I've had my tickets.

Busy weekend ahead
I want to start out telling you Jason will be helping coach the kids hockey team. I'm excited for him. I know he's excited to get some more time on the ice. That means Saturday mornings he has to be at the rink at 8:30 and 6:15 on Tuesday nights. I think he'll have a blast doing this.
We have a busy weekend ahead of us. Friday we have plans with friends to do dinner and a movie. My littlest sister Emily has her dance recital on Saturday at 7:30 pm. Then we Emily's birthday party on Sunday at 1:30. Her birthday is not till the 25th but her grandma and grandpa will be down for the dance recital so her party is this weekend. I'm sure we'll still do dinner for her birthday. I've been thinking on what I want to get her, and I know I can always get her something princess, but I've been trying to do something different. I know everyone is going to get her princess stuff. We'll see what I can find for her. The picture on the left is me and Emily on my wedding day.
I'm so glad it's Thursday. Were going out to dinner with some friends tonight, so that will be fun. I'm so excited to go to Spokane, only a couple more weeks. I'm not excited for the snow, but what can you do. Reminder to self, pack winter clothes, not 40 degree weather clothes. Hope every one's enjoying their Thursday.

Wednesday funk
If your reading this Shannan, your in my thoughts and prayers. I hope the best for you and your family. Things WILL get better.
Not much to post today. I'm always in kinda of a funk on Wednesday. It's smack in the middle of the week, and Friday's always feel forever away on Wednesday's. My dad and I usually go out to lunch on Wednesday's so that's always a nice treat. Jason has a game tonight, so that means rush, rush, rush. Get home from work, make dinner, get dishes done, and then off to watch Jason's hockey game. Wednesday nights are always hectic. At least we have the early game tonight. That's some relief, knowing I'll get some sleep tonight. I have not really been sleeping well for the last week. I toss and turn all night, glancing at the alarm clock every hour, and then when I feel like I just fell asleep, my alarm goes off. I'm sure it's just stress. Hopefully tonight will be better. I did get my dinner menu done for the next two weeks. I love only going grocery shopping once every two weeks. I feel I appreciate going more now, because I'm not going every other day. I use to dred going, and now I get kinda excited to go. I've been meaning to pick up a new crock pot cook book, and I'm hoping I'll find a good one this weekend. I L-O-V-E my crock pot. I love that I can throw everything in there in the morning or on my lunch break and when I get home, all I have to do is get a side dish ready and were ready to eat. Wish us luck on the game tonight. Have a wonderful Wednesday.

Birthdays & stick night
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR SHANNAN HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU.
Jason had stick night last night. As Jason was leaving I looked over at him and saw that he had a stow away. Silly boy! Stick night is open rink for all hockey players. Sometimes I think Jason has more fun on stick night then on game night. I'm glad for stick night. It gets him out of the house, and gives me some time to watch my shows. Jason informed me last night that stick night will continue after hockey ends. I'm sure he thinks this is a miracle! Hockey ends at the end of February, and stick night will continue until May. The rink closes down in May for the summer and opens back up in October or November. I'm sure during that time Jason will get back into golf. If you would of asked me 6 months ago what Jason's favorite sport was I would of told you golf hands down. Now though, I would say hockey. Which is surprising to me because he loves golf with a passion. I don't mind him golfing all the time, but it can be real spendy. Hockey isn't as bad, once we bought all the gear. What ever he does, I'll love him unconditionally and I'm always proud of him. Have a terrific Tuesday.

Sick.....or sick of it?
There's been a real deep dense fog around here for the last couple of days. It's that creepy eerie fog, that should be in a scary movie. It's kinda pretty looking in it's own way. I didn't get any cool pictures of it, but there's always next time. Jason woke up this morning not feeling so hot, so he stayed home from work. Yea he's a skippy macskipperton! I'm sure it does not have anything to do with him getting a new Xbox360 game! I can't complain he always works, I consider this a true miracle. That is one thing I love about my husband. If I'm feeling dragged at work, I'll call in and just not deal with it. My husband on the other hand, works 99% of the time. I know there have been many days that I was well enough to work, but I chose not to. So to you Jason, I hope you had fun playing your game but there's only room for one of us to be a skippy macskipperton!! Love ya babe.
We have dinner plans again on Friday. Yay!! I'm excited. I told Crystal I would bring over some Papa Murphy's pizza and bring a movie. Come to find out, Crystal's husband's favorite pizza is the same as Jason's favorite pizza and to top that Crystal's favorite pizza is my favorite pizza!! And to think we just started hanging out. I wonder what else we have in common? We are going to bring the movie Grandma's Boy. Have you seen it? It is one of my all time favorite movies. I've probably seen that movie at least 15 times and I'm sure I could watch it 50 more times. Jason is one of those people who can not watch the same movie in a year. Grandma's Boy is a movie Jason has watched a couple of times so far this year, so that should tell you how funny it is. Have a marvelous Monday.

As Sunday comes to an end
It's Sunday, and as the weekend comes to an end I sit back and think about what I got accomplished this weekend. Saturday morning I did go to Shopko, and look at baby clothes and board games. Didn't find much of either. We went to our friends house for dinner on Saturday. The pineapple chicken burgers & home made onion rings were killer. The evening went great. Chit chatted till about 11:30 and then we went home. These friends of ours are great. I'm so glad we started hanging out with them. Did some cleaning Sunday morning, and played my video game for a few hours as well on Sunday. The husband and I did watch a very very funny movie Friday night. It's called Chuck & Larry. It was freaking hilarious. I laughed many times during the movie. Jason watched a movie on Sunday, wasn't really into it, so I cleaned and worked on the menu for the next two weeks. I will need to have this done by Wednesday, so I can get it typed up and ready for Friday. Every other week (pay day week) I do a food menu for those two weeks. This includes dinner for 14 nights, lunch for 4 days, and breakfast for 4 mornings. I've been doing this for a couple of months now, and it has helped me a lot. I use to worry about what to cook for dinner everyday, and I'd be looking for something to make on my lunch break, and I would have to send Jason to the store almost everyday to get something. He gets off work hours before I do, so it was always easier to have him get it, instead of me going after I got off work and then getting home after 6:00. This way I get everything I need and I don't buy all the junk I don't need. Sometimes it hard to think of 14 different dinner idea's week to week, but I do a lot of recipe searching and I'm always trying new things. Have you ever thought about trying a dinner menu? I don't always stick to the days I have stuff written down on, I just go through and pick as we go. Tomorrow is Monday, and I hope the week goes by fast. I've get to get ready to go watch the Amazing race. Have a good night everyone.

Weekend Plans
I'm so glad it's Friday. This is my first full week of working after all the holiday's. So as you can imagine, this was a very long week. We have dinner plans on Saturday with some friends, so that will be fun. I've finally decided on what I'm going to cook. Last time we did dinner with this couple, she provided dinner. So this time is up to me. No problem though, I love to cook. I'm going to make teriyaki pineapple chicken burgers & home made onion rings. I hope they enjoy what I bring, I'm sure they will, I know my husband will!
Other than that nothing else really going on this weekend. I'm sure my husband will want to spend some time on the Xbox360, which means I'll probably end up going to the dollar store, or even better I should make a trip to Shopko. I find the cutest baby clothes at Shopko, and since I'm making a trip to Spokane I need to pick something up for Joshua. Also my brother and sister in-law are expecting a baby in July, and I still have not bought them anything. I love buying baby clothes, and stuff. I think this weekend I'll make a trip to find something for my new niece or nephew. I can't wait till we find out what the sex of the baby is. Then I really can start buying that baby some cool stuff! This will be our first grand baby of the family. So of course everyone is extremely excited
My littlest sister Emily is in a dance class. She has a dance recital next weekend. This will be her first one. I'm really excited for it, it's going to be so cute. This sister of mine is a princess, in her mind and in life. There are 3 boys and her at home, so you can imagine how she became the princess. Anytime we go out to my parents house, her and I play dolls or princess. She is so awesome. Her fourth birthday is at the end of the month. I still can't believe she is going to be 4. She's stayed the night with Jason and I a couple of months ago, and has been begging to stay again. My dad and mom are very busy people, and are always going out of town or doing something. We have not had a chance to have her over again, but I'm thinking after we get back from Spokane we'll have her over again. We had Devin (10 year old brother) and Trey (8 year old brother) over a couple of times, and they all love it. My youngest brother Brock (5 years old) is the only one who has not stayed the night, but I'm sure his time is coming. I've been very surprised by this, because Jason and him have a bond. Anytime we go out to the parents house Brock is usually glued to Jason and what ever he is doing. When ever I call the parents house and any of the kids answers they want to know where Jason is and if they can talk to him. I love it. I'm glad my little brothers and sister love him. I hope everyone has a great weekend, and enjoy what ever it is you are doing.

Flowers are my weakness
Did you know I love flowers? I do. They put a big ol smile on my face anytime I get them. I love looking at them, I love smelling them, I love receiving them. I just plain ol love them. This is what I came home to last night. It was awesome. It's funny how you can be having a bad day, or even an ok day, and a simple gesture like flowers makes it all ok. I even got a balloon with the flowers. How sweet. I'm only afraid of what the husband has in mind, in return. I'm just kidding you. My husband is one smart man though, he knows how to get me.
So Jason had the late game last night for hockey. The late game if were lucky starts at 9:00 (last night it didn't start till 9:20) which means it's not over till 10:00. It was a good game though. We were down 4-8 and in the last 15 min. we came up and won the game 9-8. GO ICE MEN! I think this is 4 wins for us now. Jason didn't get home till after 10:30. After he showered and laid all his gear out to dry (if any one out there plays hockey don't ever leave your dripping wet with sweat hockey gear in your bag, not a pretty sight or smell) it was past 11:00. Now this may not seem late to some of you, but my husband gets up at 4:00 am, so this is extremely late for him to be going to bed. But this is something he loves to do, so I'm sure it's all worth it. He did score his first goal a couple of weeks ago, so that has been his highlight for the hockey season so far. They have 5 more games left, so keep your fingers crossed, he'll score again.
My youngest cat Vinnie (below) loves Jason's hockey bag. Anytime he can sit on it, or especially in it, he's in heaven. Every time Jason leaves for hockey (two times a week) Vinnie gets on it and they have this game they play of Jason caring him around the house while he sits on the bag. It's the funniest thing. I know he justs really wants to go play hockey with dad, but I keep telling him he's got to be a little bit older! My other cat Nala, is not impressed with any of this. I'm sure she wathces Jason and Vinnie and just thinks we are so dumb. She is your average bitch house cat, always trying to escape. We've had Nala for 4 years now, and recently go Vinnie about 6 months ago. There defiantly the children of the house, or I should say ruler of the house.

Snowing in Spokane
My mom, who lives in Spokane, called me this morning and informed me that they recieved 9 1/2 inches of snow last night, and it was still snowing very heavily. We have lots of family and friends in Spokane, so this has had me in a worry all morning. I've called several and they all ensure me there fine. I tend to worry about my family and friends a lot. So I'm sure they were expecting my calls early this morning. My husband Jason and I have a trip planned to Spokane early February, and I'm hoping that the snow will be gone by then. Where I live we have no snow and I'm not really enjoying the thought of being around all that snow! Oh well, I'm not cancaling my trip because of some snow....or will I? The answer is no I won't, but I can still think it right? Actually I'm really excited to go to Spokane. It's been some time now. My husband Jason is from Spokane, so all his family is there, and I have family there as well. We have some amazing friends there also. I like to get up there at least every other month, but latley with the holidays and everything, we havn't been up in a while. My friends Cameron & Kaela have a son (he is pictured above) who will turn 1 in March. Everytime I see the little guy, he's so much bigger than the last time I saw him. It breaks my heart that I don't get to see him everyday. He's such an amazing little guy. He's definatly a miracle. I can't wait to see him! With that all said, I want to say "Drive safe everyone in Spokane". We miss you all and we'll be seeing you all here soon.
This is my first time, so please be gentle
This is a journal for me and my family. Nothing else, nothing more! If you find anything entertaining or pleasing to your liking please enjoy my crazy life, and unexpected miracles I encounter everyday.
