Balloom Stampede 2008

The weekend went fast. We all had a blast, and now it's time to get the coffee pot ready for the morning and get lunches packed for lunch. Tomorrow is Monday, and yes that sucks but for me it's just one day closer to our Seattle trip. So yes I dread Monday, and yes I do not want it to come, but inside my excitement is growing for that final workday before our 4 day weekend. We had a blast at the balloon stampede. Spent $40.00 on junk and food and called it good. Jason and I bought ourselves a WII and spent all weekend playing it with my sister Josie. We got Mario Kart, and it has a steering wheel you play with and it's a blast. I'm already addicted and I've only played it a short while. My sister left today (Sunday), and Jason and I went out to my dad's house and had a Mother's Day lunch with my Wmom. It was a good day. Kinda windy but not to bad. I hope everyone had a great weekend ♥
Being blown upWaiting their turn This is the Wild Horse Casino balloon, and I liked it because it had the fake feathers hanging off
Once they start launching they are on a race to find the X. Someone places and X in between Dixie and Waitsburg and the people in the balloons are trying to find the X and then they have to land right on top of the X, if no one lands on it the person closest to the X wins.
This was the first time I've ever seen a balloon shaped like this, he had some trouble getting up but once he got her up, she was soaring. I'm not fond of this balloon, but that is just because I love the traditional balloon. Jason likes this balloon, but I think it's just because I don't...

My mother in law helps with this event every year and she was telling me that the guys she helps (she told me his name, but I can't remember) makes his own balloons and he weaves his own baskets. Now I'm not sure I trust my weaving skills enough to hold my ass up in the air that high up :]
If you didn't get to enjoy the Balloon Stampede this year, I hope you make it next year
